Shotgun Shane, Dierks Bentley & Elle King “Different For Girls Remix

Review by Mr. Brox. Check out his show on Tuesday Nights on Hick Hop Radio.

On May 26, 2016, one day before his new album Black was released, Dierks Bentley announced “Different For Girls,” a duet with rock singer Elle King, as the second single from the album. Tennessee country rapper Shotgun Shane has made the song his own. In the original version, Bentley portrays a dark side to a girl after her heart gets broken. Shane portrays a different girl who is strong through heartbreak. Essentially, the two entertainers are singing/rapping about the different paths a girl can follow after heartbreak, but what ties Shane’s verse to the rest of the song is the behavior of the female character.
