Jelly Roll Whiskey Sessions EP

.

.

Jelly Roll is already a force in the country rap game.  In particular, his sessions with Lil’ Wyte have been very popular, even making a very respectable showing on Billboard charts.  Now Jelly is out with his newest effort Whiskey Sessions, and to say its good would be the understatement of the year.  The arrangements are precise, the production is superior, and Jelly Roll does his thing on what I think is his best solo release yet.

An acoustic rap is rare, but “Sunday Morning” was built for that simple background.  Was it taking a risk?  Yep.  Did it work? Yep.  Exposing yourself to your fans with only a guitar and light instruments backing you isn’t something rappers do, but “Sunday Morning” is relate-able and the background is perfect for Jelly Roll’s one-two punch of rapping and singing.  Did I mention this dude’s got a voice on him?

Every song on Whiskey Sessions is unique in its own way, but all 5 are fire.  If you’ve got some Christmas money to spend, get Jelly Roll Whiskey Sessions

I got mine on Amazon, but you can get it on iTunes too.
