HHM: Where was the venue for the video and why did you choose that site?
Big Po’: The location was in Calhoun, Georgia at the home of the featured artists, Them Riverbank Boys. The reason we chose that site is because you know most of us do this have real jobs and it was better for me to go to them. Also Phatback, from Da Pig Pen, was operating the camera and he’s from Georgia as well.
HHM: How many videos have you made?
Big Po’: I’ve done 3 videos so far. The first two I did on my own with the help of a couple friends. I went all out buying a camera and started being creative and shooting my own video. The quality of the first two videos were poor but you have to start somewhere, so I did the best I could.
HHM: What is your favorite one so far?
Big Po’: “God’s Country” is probably my favorite because it’s footage of the small country town I live in, Downsville, Louisiana. However, “Truck Look Like Mud” was a fun video. We had a blast filming it.
HHM: What is one thing you have to have on site when shooting a video? (outside of standard equipment of course)
Big Po’: You have to have something to play the actual song. Most of these locations we shoot from are in the middle of nowhere, so my suggestion and tip is to have one of those handy generators to have a power source to play the actual song you’re filming for.
HHM: When can we look forward to seeing the finished product?
Big Po’: Very soon! We are working on the editing process of the video as we speak and we’ll be making announcements as to when the song hits all digital outlets and to the video release. This will be a single off of my new album, “Gumbo Soul” that will be dropping before the end of the year.
Keep an eye out here on Hick Hop Music for the release of the new video!
